Benihana-Atrium

Our Team

Meet the chefs who make your “eatertainment” experience unforgettable. The team at Benihana at Grand Mercure Bangkok Atrium await your arrival, ready to wow with dazzling teppanyaki performances. Pull up a chair and enjoy the show.

Head Chef
Chef Suriyawut
With almost 30 years of experience in Japanese kitchens, Chef Suriyawut has proven himself a master of the cuisine. He leads the team the same way he wields a teppanyaki knife: with precision and creativity. Guests will remember him for his funny and lighthearted attitude towards Benihana’s signature “eatertainment”.

Chef Thanapong
Chef Bank is our most requested teppanyaki chef, loved for his crazy tricks and incredible agility. His expertise and unique style of performing is a feast for all the senses. Chef Bank’s experience includes cooking both in Thailand and internationally and he’s one of the rising stars of the Benihana team.

Chef Jaturong
Chef Arm is a natural born performer who loves not just cooking for guests but treating them to action-packed “eatertainment” too. His favourite part of working as a teppanyaki chef is putting smiles on people’s faces with exciting tricks and delicious food. Every day at Benihana is full of fun learning experiences, he says.
Commis II
Chef Chatchawan
A favourite with the kids, Chef Yuu’s lively personality and natural kindness makes him especially mesmerising for our younger guests. But don’t let his young face fool you; he has extensive experience working at leading restaurants, and in addition to his natural flair, his flavours and cooking skills are on point.

Chef Nattapong
Chef Nut has transformed from a shy wallflower into a hilarious performer with endless requests from customers. His determination and always-on smile have seen him grow into an impressive chef and though he’s among the younger members of the team, his attention to detail and skills match those of our more experienced mainstays.
CHEF DE PARTIE
Chef Watchara
Chef Jazz is a firm favourite with our celebrity guests and a familiar face on TV, thanks to his frequent appearances on cooking shows. Chef Jazz began his journey as a teppanyaki chef in 2000 and, after 15 years in the UK, he decided to come back to entertain us at Benihana at Avani Atrium Bangkok.
